This book is simply adorable. One of our recent library picks, and we're reading it several times a day! Bubba especially loves the last page when "baby" and "momma" jump in the leaves together. One of our favorites of the season:)

Toddler Owl costume Wings How-To (sort of)
So in my not-very-needle & thread-inclined world, this was a pretty big deal for me. Not only did I actually hand stitch fabrics together, but I didn't follow any directions! This makes me sound like I can do a lot more than I actually can. The sewing job was pathetic, but you can't see it!;) I got the jist of this idea from A Beautiful Mess.
One larger piece of fabric was the foundation for the wings (cut into a double wing shape). Followed by attaching half-oval shaped feathers in an overlapping pattern (I used a combo of fabric glue with a simple stitch over it for extra security; hot glue would be perfect but I didn't have a glue gun at the time!).
I sewed a quick hem at the top and slipped the ribbon through. So easy that even someone who has never sewed before can do this. Different colored "feathers" would be awesome, as well as "real" feathers from a craft store. Go to town!!!
The end result was pretty adorable. I'm going for a cutesy, happy-go-lucky style. These wings will be paired with red sneakers and khaki cords. It's such a fun combination!

BSF (Bible Study Fellowship), great for moms AND kids!
We had a blast running around the courtyard after our BSF lessons today! We were both in great moods, feeling uplifted by God's Word and beautifully caring leaders!
So blessed we get to experience this freely!
Feeling great today:)

2nd Birthday!!! Elmo is here! (much belated entry!)
Our little guy's second birthday party was such a hit. With all this adorableness:)
These mason jars with straws was probably my favorite touch. Soooo cute, and adults loved them too!
Above, is all the stuff I stayed up untill 4 am working on. Including the character t-shirts below! Soooo much fabric glue. I never want to use it again. But the end results were worth it;)
Some blurry action shots, but worth adding in here! Emmett had a blast and loved all his gifts.
.....required a strong dose of recuperation immediately following.
Pretty much one of the cutest days with our little guy thus far. We'll never forget that day! Especially since he's been singing "happy birthday to you" on a daily basis ever since.
Ta ta, for now!
